At the age of 38, John Atencio received international recognition for his unique jewelry designs. He was invited to become a member of the American Jewelry Design Council. Catholic religious jewelry as has been found through several instances is fast becoming the most popular way for one to show one’s faith, if the concerned person happens to be an adherent of the religion of Christianity. It is to be noted in this respect that the catholic jewelry is in no way a modern phenomenon; on the contrary this tradition has been going through several centuries at a stretch.
